Cake the Cat (Adventure Time)

Since I made Jake it was only natural I made Cake. When I made Jake I didn't have enough white fabric for Cake, but I've sold Jake so I wasn't really able to get photos of them together. Since I was waiting for fabric for my commissions and I had the extra white fabric so I could make her.



Cake was super simple to make. I based her pattern off of Jake's pattern. I only really needed to make something for the tail and ears. The face and body are appliqued on, while the tail and limbs were sew together. It was just easier to do it that way, for stuffing purposes. I think for next time I might make the dark lines around the eyes a bit thinner. I don't think it looks bad, but it might look better if its thinner.

The ears are just attached on the top, rather then sewn in. No particular reasons for doing that, just felt like it. The ears look just as nice either way I think. There actually isn't too much I can say more about Cake that I haven't said about Jake. It's a really simple plush to make, but probably one of my favorites.

Loftwing (Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword)

This was a commission for a friend of mine Link's cosplay and this honestly became one of my favorites to work on. I've played a few of the LoZ games, I haven't had the chance to play Skyward Sword, I don't have a Wii, maybe sometime I'll get the chance to play it.



This was my first time making a bird type creature. It would have been nice to make the wings spread, but not really practical. So I kept his wings folded, and simplified the feather details. I did the chest feathers by layering two pieces of fleece, then using a marker I colored in the tips. For that, the detail was so small it was easier to just color it in.

The legs do not have any sort of wires in them, but they are stuffed and can be easily bent to sit under him. They sadly can't support him, unlike what I'd like for most of my plushies, but I really couldn't find a way around it.

He's a pretty good size, probably almost 11"-12" tall. He's supposed to be somewhat big, but I wanted him to be a good size so the person could hold and carry him. I'm very pleased with this commission over all!

Jake the Dog (Adventure Time)

So recently I really started to get into Adventure Time. I'm not sure why I was so behind on the show, probably because I don't really have cable. But I got the chance to watch it and I fell in love. I just had to make something from the show. So I looked over what I had and I was happy to be able to make Jake.



His shapes are pretty basic, and he was really rather easy to make. The eyes are hand appliqued on, no other reason other then it was easier to sew it that way. The eyes were so big, I didn't really see the need to use the machine.

The special part about Jake is his arms and legs. In the show he's always changing them or doing odd sort of poses, so I made sure to include wires, so that they were bendable. So now his arms and legs can do any sort of silly pose. I'm really happy with how he ended up overall!

Fluttershy (My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic)

So it's been a while since I've updated. I took a brief hiatus on making plushies, I got a little busy after the summer. But in-between I decided to work on a project to get myself back in the groove of things. I made this plush a little while ago, I just really hadn't gotten around to posting it.



I'm not really much of a pony fan but the designs are really very cute. I thought Fluttershy was one of the cutest so I just had to make her. I was lucky and had everything I needed already to make her. This was my first time making a shape like this, like a horse, so it was a bit of a test for me. I think the legs ended up a bit thinner then I wanted to, so she didn't stand perfectly, but with the tail and legs she does sit well.

The mane and tail were all stuffed with batting rather then stuffing, so they wouldn't be so big and poofy, they could be easier to sew. Her eyes were hand appliqued on, due to the level of detail on them. Basically it was just one layer over the other. I wanted to recreate the cartoony look as much as possible. I could have added a bit more detail on the cutie mark, the butterflies could use the anteni, maybe next time I'll hand applique them on.

Kyubey (Puella Magi Madoka Magica)

I had been meaning to make this for a long while now. I haven't seen the series yet, but Kyubey's design really drew me in. I wanted to attempt it, but never really had the time. Finally I had someone commission me for him and I was excited to work on him.



His body was really easy. It was a simple, slender shape. Rather then keep the arms and legs attached, I chose to make them separate. Felt it was easier to control how thin they were and how I could stuff them. I think the part I'm most happy about is how I was able to create the gradient on the ear parts. It was pretty easy to do. I just lightly colored over with a marker, until I got the gradient look that I wanted.

Originally I was planning on getting gold rings for his ears, but I never really found one that I liked. So I ended up just using fabric to make the rings. But it works out, because then I don't have to worry about them moving around. He sits pretty wonderfully. I'm a little sad I have to give him up to the client now!

As a side note, I'm starting to accept and post client photos with their plushes. With each client their get a picture of them, and their plush posted, as well a link to whatever gallery they want.

Dragon Bag

This was based off an anime character...but I was never really given the name of the anime of the character. But they wanted the dragon as a plush, but rather then a regular plush they wanted a bag to be made out of it. I had never made a bag before, so it was a fun experiment.



They also requested that I use a different material. Instead of the normal anti-pill fleece I use, I was asked to use a minky-fleece. This is much softer and has a really small fur like appearance to it. I LOVE how it felt. My only complaint with working with it, is that the fur can sort of get everywhere. But once it was all sewn up, I was pretty pleased. Everything came together easier, the cut and patterns were perfect. Probably one of my favorite looking projects.



The inside of the bag is my normal anti-pill fleece, so it was super soft. The body isn't stuffed, to avoid making it look too thick, also so stuff could be put inside the bag. It has a simple zipper so that you can open and close it.

For my first bag I am very pleased with the results. I might have to make more in the future.

Enryu (GaoGaiGar)

It's been a while since I updated! I have several new plushies I can add. I plan on doing entries for each one. First we'll start off with another robot.



After making the first Transformers plush I was contacted to make another robot plush. This one was a bit more difficult then the previous. I think I had a bit of a harder time putting together the pieces. I had a few somewhat alright references to work off of when making him. This was also a series I had never heard of before, so I just had to go off of what I had from the client.



He took me a bit longer to finish then most of my other ones. Mostly because I kept running out of supplies! But the client was really rather wonderful. He stands a bit larger then my Transformers plush, probably over 2ft in height. Pretty much of the right size and height for cuddling!
